Virtual and hybrid events from the Johan Cruijff ArenA

Webinar provider Online Seminar entered into a partnership with the Johan Cruijff Arena in November: customers can now also hold virtual and hybrid events there. In the stadium where Ajax and the Dutch national team are present, there are 15 rooms for business events. Jeroen van Iersel, marketing manager Johan Cruijff ArenA: 'Customers choose us because of the association with a winning mentality and performance at the highest level, in addition because of the practical advantages such as accessibility and the latest facilities that we have to offer.'

'Normally we already organize many business events,' says Van Iersel. 'After all, competitions don't happen every day. It often happened that customers broadcast live or made an aftermovie themselves. Since Corona, we have been working with video partners to market this service ourselves. In this way we facilitate our customers to make broadcasts from the ArenA. We are not going to set up our own webinar platform; we are therefore pleased with the collaboration with Online Seminar. '

ArenA facilities

The stadium offers 15 rooms for meetings and events. 'Five of them are our flagships when it comes to recordings. Special is the Royal Lodge, where you can see the center spot in the background when shooting. That space is very attractive for talk shows. In addition, we also have larger spaces where, if the corona rules allow it, people from 30 people can go. ' The ArenA also offers four restaurants and catering can be booked at each room.

Winner mentality

Van Iersel sees that customers choose the ArenA for two types of reasons: practical and because of the atmosphere. 'We have a lot of parking space, we are located in the middle of the country and in Amsterdam. We also have space for large groups. In addition, there is the association with the winning mentality. In the ArenA we perform at the highest level, we innovate continuously and our customers and we each other accelerate. When the corona rules allow it, there is the option to take a tour of the building. 'You can touch the grass, you enter the dug-out and take a look at the changing rooms. That gives a special dimension to a visit. '

Scaling up at a special location

'What I like about the ArenA,' adds Marc Zwiers, Online Seminar's business manager, 'is that the location can keep up with the rules. You can scale up when possible and organize a hybrid event, but you can also go for a smaller space. We see that customers are increasingly looking for special locations to give their online event something extra. The ArenA offers that. '

In het stadion waar Ajax en het Nederlands Elftal acte de présence geven, zijn er 15 zalen voor businessevents. Jeroen van Iersel, marketingmanager Johan Cruijff ArenA: ‘Klanten kiezen voor ons vanwege de associatie met winnaarsmentaliteit en presteren op topniveau, daarnaast vanwege de praktische voordelen zoals bereikbaarheid en de nieuwste faciliteiten die we te bieden hebben.’

‘Normaal gesproken organiseren we al veel businessevents,’ vertelt Van Iersel. ‘Wedstrijden zijn er immers niet elke dag. Het gebeurde regelmatig dat klanten dan zelf live uitzonden of een aftermovie maakten. Sinds Corona zijn we gaan samenwerken met videopartners om deze dienst zelf ook in de markt te zetten. Wij faciliteren onze klanten zo om uitzendingen te maken vanuit de ArenA. Een eigen webinarplatform gaan we niet opzetten; we zijn daarom blij met de samenwerking met Online Seminar.’

Faciliteiten ArenA

Het stadion biedt 15 zalen voor meetings en events. ‘Vijf daarvan zijn onze vlaggenschepen als het gaat om opnamen. Bijzonder is de Koninklijke Loge, waar je de middenstip op de achtergrond ziet bij opnamen. Die ruimte is heel sfeervol voor talkshows. Daarnaast hebben we ook grotere ruimtes waar, als de coronaregels het toelaten, vanaf 30 man terecht kunnen.’ Ook biedt de ArenA vier restaurants en kan er bij elke ruimte catering gereserveerd worden.

Winnaarsmentaliteit

Van Iersel ziet dat klanten om twee soorten redenen voor de ArenA kiezen: praktisch en vanwege de sfeer. ‘We hebben veel parkeergelegenheid, we liggen in het midden van het land en in Amsterdam. Bovendien hebben we ruimte voor grote groepen. Daarnaast is er de associatie met de winnersmentaliteit. In de ArenA presteren we op topniveau, innoveren we voortdurend en daarin versnellen onze klanten en wij elkaar.’ Wanneer de coronaregels het toelaten, is er de mogelijkheid om een rondleiding te volgen in het gebouw. ‘Je kunt het gras aanraken, je komt in de dug-out en neemt een kijkje in de kleedkamers. Dat geeft een speciale dimensie aan een bezoek.’

Opschalen op een bijzondere locatie

‘Wat ik prettig vind aan de ArenA’, voegt Marc Zwiers, business manager van Online Seminar toe, ‘is dat de locatie kan meeveren met de regels. Je kunt opschalen wanneer dat kan en een hybride event organiseren, maar ook weer voor een kleinere ruimte gaan. Wij zien dat klanten steeds vaker zoeken naar bijzondere locaties, om hun online event iets extra’s te geven. De ArenA biedt dat.’
