10 years ago, MICE Operations started as a planning system for event professionals, providing a solution to the problems planners encountered: unclear communication and administrative hassle. MICE has now grown into a total package of planning and sales tools for event locations and catering. They are one of the largest players in the Netherlands and active in eight different countries. This anniversary year they are going one step further: MICE is no longer just the software of today, but also of the future with the use of AI and revolutionary quotations.


“From the start, MICE's starting point has been that we want to make the lives of event planners easier and more fun, with the aim of more peace in the tent. This way, people in the industry can do what makes them happy: focus on their guests,” says general manager Dennis de Kort, who himself worked at various event locations for many years. “I know the frustration of working with Excel sheets and endlessly doing transfers. I thought: this must be possible more efficiently, right? I presented my idea to an old acquaintance with a successful software development company. And that was ten years ago now.”


The future of the event industry

That old acquaintance is Timo van der Zanden, who was so enthusiastic that he immediately joined and is now co-owner: “There is nothing more fun than developing something that really helps people. And it shows: our customers are happy and enthusiastic. We actively involve them in our developments, because we continue to work continuously to make MICE even better. And that means we look ahead: what will the software of the future look like? To do this, we naturally look at developments in the event industry and the future of software.”


“We continue to look at how we can make the work of event planners even more efficient and fun, so that turnover is also increased,” De Kort adds. That's why we're launching two new features in the coming months. With our new quotations you will blow every customer away: interactive quotations ensure that customers get a first impression online of the atmosphere and experience at the location itself. This new way of selling is guaranteed to ensure that your quote ends up at the top of the pile.”


“And without it costing the planner much effort,” says Van der Zanden. “This also applies to our other new feature: of course we use AI to make the event planner's work even easier. You can literally convert an email or note into a quote with one click. How simple do you want it? And there are even more developments with AI on the agenda.”
