Artful witness to the past - Jacques Jordaens
Jacob or actually Jacques Jordaens (1593 - 1678) was a painter from the Antwerp School, which also included Peter Paul Rubens and Antoon van Dyck.
The painter's first name is Jacques . In the baptismal register this is phonetically noted as Jac , spelling that he also used to sign his paintings. Whenever he signed a letter, the painter wrote Jacques Jordaens throughout his life. In the 19th century his signature was wrongly completed to Jacob.
Im(t)movable heritage
The Jordaenshuis is the parental home of Jacques Jordaens. The property is located in a courtyard between Hoogstraat and Reyndersstraat in the heart of Antwerp's historic city centre.
The sympathetic courtyard and the historic building together form a new event location in Antwerp. And to pay tribute to the original owner's real name, the venue was renamed Jacques .
In the heART of Antwerp
The modularity of Jacques can be used very widely. There are different spaces available, and also very easy to combine! It is the ideal location for all your private events such as wedding parties, anniversaries, baby showers, communion and other family celebrations. But of course companies can also go there for their staff parties, seminars and meetings.
On the ground floor you have the intimate courtyard and 3 available spaces. There are 4 break-outs available on the first floor and mezzanine.
There is also more than enough space in the beautifully vaulted cellars for presentation sets and beautiful dinner settings. The cellar is also very suitable for a dance party at night, too.
