The authentic medieval Hernen Castle has been designated by the municipality of Wijchen as an official wedding location.

Hernen is an example of a slowly growing castle. Defense made way for living comfort over time. In the tower (14th century) you can even touch the more than 500 year old roof construction. From 2025, the ceremony can be performed in the newly renovated 16th century wedding hall or, if the weather is nice, in the intimate castle garden.

Of course, you can also contact us to organize the entire wedding day up to and including dinner. After the official ceremony, there is the opportunity to toast together on the terrace of the former Donjon and cut the wedding cake, followed by a delicious dinner with close family and best friends. All this can be filled in according to your own wishes, in principle the castle is not furnished, but we work closely with other parties to dress the castle according to your own taste and wishes.
