The Brussels canal zone is a zone in development. Numerous projects are being set up, and Materialenkaai is one of them. The Materialenkaai runs along the Havenlaan, opposite Thurn & Taxis. Brussels Environment, in collaboration with Beliris, will convert this quay into a 3.20ha public park.

Since the realization of this project is a long-term project, Brussels Environment already wants to give the quay a temporary interpretation. In this way, social dynamics can already arise in the neighborhood and offer a taste of what the future park could become. The Allee Du quay was established for this purpose.

Allee Du Kaai, a project of the non-profit organization Toestand en milieu enmilieu Brussel, wants to be a playful, informal meeting place where social, cultural & sports initiatives can be developed and supported. This place is a temporary space, where, pending the completion of the park, residents can come into contact with social, cultural and artistic associations of the Brussels-Capital Region.

It is the first time in the Brussels Region that a public service has developed and monitored temporary use. Leefmilieu Brussel and vzw Toestand want to involve the population as early as possible in the creation of new public spaces, giving the neighborhood the opportunity to really make the space its own. The focus is therefore mainly on the process that is created, rather than the final result.

Free space @ Allee du Kaai

When ? Every Saturday, between 2 PM - 10 PM.

What ? Various options for organizing activities, concerts, screenings, meetings, meetings, etc.

Cost ? You choose how much you want to give to Allee du Kaai.

De Brusselse kanaalzone is een zone in ontwikkeling. Er worden tal van projecten opgezet, en de Materialenkaai is daar eentje van. De Materialenkaai loopt langs de Havenlaan, tegenover Thurn & Taxis. Leefmilieu Brussel zal, in samenwerking met Beliris, deze kaai omzetten tot een openbaar park van 3,20ha.

Aangezien de realisatie van dit project een werk van lange adem is, wil Leefmilieu Brussel de kaai nu al een tijdelijke invulling geven. Zo kan in de buurt al een sociale dynamiek ontstaan en een voorproefje bieden van wat het toekomstige park zou kunnen worden. Hiervoor werd het “Allee Du kaai” opgericht.

“Allee Du Kaai”, een project van vzw Toestand en leefmilieu Brussel, wil een ludieke, informele ontmoetingsplaats zijn, waar sociale, culturele & sportieve initiatieven ontwikkeld en gesteund kunnen worden. Deze plek is een tijdelijke ruimte, waar, in afwachting van de oplevering van het park, de inwoners in contact kunnen komen met sociale, culturele en artistieke verenigingen van het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest.

Het is de eerste keer in het Brussels Gewest dat een overheidsdienst het tijdelijk gebruik ontwikkelt en opvolgt. Leefmilieu Brussel en vzw Toestand willen zo vroeg als mogelijk de bevolking betrekken bij het creëren van nieuwe publieke ruimtes, zo krijgt de buurt de kans om de ruimte zich echt eigen te maken. De focus ligt daarom vooral op het proces dat ontstaat, eerder dan het uiteindelijke resultaat.

Wanneer? Elke zaterdag, tussen 14u00 – 22u00.

Wat? Verschillende mogelijkheden tot het organiseren van activiteiten, concerten, vertoningen, vergaderingen, ontmoetingen, enz.

Kost? U kiest zelf hoeveel u wenst te geven aan Allee du Kaai.
