Feestzaal De Steenblockhoeve
- Haesendonckstraat 81, 1800 vilvoorde, Belgium
The Steenblockhoeve on the Haesendonckstraat in Houtem (Vilvoorde) was probably founded in the early 17th century by the abbey of La Cambre. The abbey also owned another farm nearby, the Monnikhof. One reason for the foundation of a second farm could perhaps be found in the disappearance of the three-stroke system, as a result of which the area to be cultivated became too large for one company. The current U-shaped farm complex rises to the 18th century. The loose components are planted around a cobbled courtyard with a pool. The barn was badly damaged during the First World War and rebuilt afterwards. In 1982 the Steenblockhoeve was protected as a monument. The farm complex was completely restored between 1997 and 2000. Now a banquet hall has been established.
