Google is Developing a Livestreaming App

Google is now also working on a livestreaming app, according to Venture Beat. The app's name is YouTube Connect and is supposed to rival Facebook Live and Twitter's Periscope.

App users can login with their Google or YouTube account and directly livestream events using their cell phone. Users will also be able to tag each other and chat with one another. Using a newsfeed, the newest clips of friends can be viewed.

The videos can also be viewed on the YouTube website, via the users' channels. Furthermore, it will be possible to save the livestreams after watching them, so they can be viewed again.

The app will be available for both iOS and Android, but it is yet unclear when this will be. Google has not yet responded to the report. The news is published right before the launch of Facebook's livestreaming service.
